The problem with advertising

It was this Sunday evening as I was researching the topic of my BA (Hons) Advertising dissertation. While discovering different business models I came across Certified B Companies. Right away I googled for an advertising agency with such a certificate and one of the two was "Nice and Serious". I looked through your website and your competitor's website thoroughly and knew my favourite right away. Not only by reflecting on your clients, the art of the campaign but also on the services you provide and your side projects and your moral compass, not to mention the crazy-good web design that your and your useless.london project shines with.

I am delighted to discover that such an agency exists. Since I started studying advertising I learned about its moral and ethical challenges which began to overshadow my desire to work in this field. I always found the face-paced environment, diversity of clients and a mixture of creativity with business extremely tempting. And so my dream was to work on Nike campaigns. Until I found out how they invest money in marketing events for communities in the USA, and on the other hand, milking the poor workers in Indonesia. Since then I am looking for the answer to the question: How to use my design and creative strategy skills in an ethical way? The best one I came up with is to do it for socially and environmentally conscious brands and invest part of the profit and time back into society and the environment. And it seems that you guys are doing exactly that.

Seven years ago I started freelancing for SMEs as a print and web designer. It was at the beginning of my Media Design study. Since then I have opened a small subscription-based web design agency called vemero.de and helped more than 75 satisfied clients achieve their business objectives. Besides design, strategy is a big part of my work spectrum—as more often the key to a successful project is to tackle the real business objective hidden behind the client’s wants. Having lived in Poland, the USA and lastly, Germany where most of my clients are based I decided to move to London and step into its creative industry. I align with your agencies morals and values it seems like an ideal agency that I would like to work with. And so I would like to apply speculatively for an internship or as a print and web design freelancer. With my acquired core skills, I can design for you extensive catalogues, brochures or OOH posters in InDesign, Photoshop or Illustrator as well as design and develop polished websites with Figma or Adobe XD and WordPress or Webflow. Because account management is part of my day-to-day, I would be happy to go with your clients through their briefs or present our results.

There are further skills that I acquired as a freelance designer/entrepreneur that would go beyond the scope of this letter but I would be happy to talk you through. My broad experience in strategy-led web and print design skills and mindset appears to be an excellent fit for your agency I would appreciate the opportunity to chat with you about how we can collaborate.

I will come by on Monday or Tuesday to ask you guys if you're interested in collaboration.
I can't wait to hear from you
Dan

What’s a Rich Text element?

This is a subheading and where it goes in the document flow

The rich text element allows you to create and format headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, images, and video all in one place instead of having to add and format them individually. This is an h2 heading inside rich text

A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!

How to customize formatting for each rich text

Headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, figures, images, and figure captions can all be styled after a class is added to the rich text element using the "When inside of" nested selector system.
